1月30日、スイスHoffmann-La Roche社のvismodegib（米製品名Erivedge）が、皮膚癌の一種である基底細胞癌(BCC)の治療薬として初めて米食品医薬品局（FDA）に承認された。転移性BCC、または外科手術および放射線療法が適応でない術後再発BCC患者に適応となる。
米国での製品開発・商品化は米Genentech社が、日本では中外製薬、それ以外の国についてはRoche社が行う。現在、手術が適応となるBCC患者を対象とするフェーズ2試験も進行中だ。
