Sysmex released the diagnostic test, named OSNA.
This can diagnose the metastasis from the breast cancer to sentinel lymph node and it only takes about 45min to get the result of diagnosis.
Today, Dr. Miyashiro at the Osaka medical center talked that OSNA test has the possibility to be able to diagnose the metastasis from gastric cancer to lymph node.
OSNA法による胃癌リンパ節転移検査は、2mm間隔での病理組織検査と同等の判定精度を持つことが、国内4施設での臨床性能試験で明らかになった。2月8日から10日まで大阪市で開催された第84回日本胃癌学会総会で、胃癌OSNA法研究会を代表して大阪府立成人病センターの宮代勲氏が発表した。
OSNA（One Step Nucleic acid Amplification）法は、可溶化させたリンパ節中のCK19mRNAを特異的に検出することで、転移の有無を判定する分子生物学的検査法。乳癌ではリンパ節転移検査として用いられているが、胃癌での性能は明らかでなかった。

If the OSNA would be approved to use the diagnosis for gastric cancer metastasis, Sysmex will be able to make their business proceed to the cancer area more.
